yes, it does pay... to certain people. If you have a low payout request they will send you your money. ($10-30) Those who receive higher payments are lucky people, im sure bux.to picked certain users so everyone would think "oh they pay everyone". I have a pending payment still in audit of $ 1487.41. I requested this payment Thursday 20 Mar 2008 04:03 PM and today is Oct 21 2009

Lowdown: If you want to make like $10 by clicking some ads and wait about a month to receive the payment; then go ahead and sign up for bux.to. But after that 1st payment you wont be seeing cash for awhile. And of course dont buy the referrals, I invested $500 of referrals and each one of them stopped clicking very soon. I have 2,070.00 in bux.to but its not really mine, its just a digital number that I cant have any access too. Investing $500 and having $2k isnt a 4x in funds, I haven't received anything back, so I lost $500 into a system of failure.

So a few days ago my Macbook Pro 17 inch (MBP) screen did not respond. Everything else worked fine... cd drive... sound... keyboard..etc. I was able to login and everything. It wasnt the "black screen of death", because if you shine a flash light behind the screen on the Apple logo you should be able to see the screen. Mine was dead... I called Support, they told me my warrenty had expired.

I setup an appointment with the closest Apple bar, through the support line. I went to the store in sorrow, predicting the outcome of the solution..."Screen is broken, pay the $350 to get it fixed" When I arrived my Genius told me the warrenty expired AUG 8 which was not a while back. He decided that I would be covered by the warrenty since it was so close to the expiration date. I was so thankful that day...So I was angry when I went and came out a happier Apple user. The proccess to fix the screen will take 3-5 biz days.

"Fatal error: the system has become unstable or is busy," it says. "Enter to return to Windows or press Control-Alt-Delete to restart your computer. If you do this you will lose any unsaved information in all open applications."

You have just been struck by the Blue Screen of Death. Anyone who uses Windows will be familiar with this. What can you do? More importantly, how can you prevent it happening?

1 Hardware conflict

The number one reason why Windows crashes is hardware conflict. Each hardware device communicates to other devices through an interrupt request channel (IRQ). These are supposed to be unique for each device.

For example, a printer usually connects internally on IRQ 7. The keyboard usually uses IRQ 1 and the floppy disk drive IRQ 6. Each device will try to hog a single IRQ for itself.

If there are a lot of devices, or if they are not installed properly, two of them may end up sharing the same IRQ number. When the user tries to use both devices at the same time, a crash can happen. The way to check if your computer has a hardware conflict is through the following route:

* Start-Settings-Control Panel-System-Device Manager.

Often if a device has a problem a yellow '!' appears next to its description in the Device Manager. Highlight Computer (in the Device Manager) and press Properties to see the IRQ numbers used by your computer. If the IRQ number appears twice, two devices may be using it.

Sometimes a device might share an IRQ with something described as 'IRQ holder for PCI steering'. This can be ignored. The best way to fix this problem is to remove the problem device and reinstall it.

Sometimes you may have to find more recent drivers on the internet to make the device function properly. A good resource is www.driverguide.com. If the device is a soundcard, or a modem, it can often be fixed by moving it to a different slot on the motherboard (be careful about opening your computer, as you may void the warranty).

When working inside a computer you should switch it off, unplug the mains lead and touch an unpainted metal surface to discharge any static electricity.

To be fair to Mcft, the problem with IRQ numbers is not of its making. It is a legacy problem going back to the first PC designs using the IBM 8086 chip. Initially there were only eight IRQs. Today there are 16 IRQs in a PC. It is easy to run out of them. There are plans to increase the number of IRQs in future designs.

2 Bad Ram

Ram (random-access memory) problems might bring on the blue screen of death with a message saying Fatal Exception Error. A fatal error indicates a serious hardware problem. Sometimes it may mean a part is damaged and will need replacing.

But a fatal error caused by Ram might be caused by a mismatch of chips. For example, mixing 70-nanosecond (70ns) Ram with 60ns Ram will usually force the computer to run all the Ram at the slower speed. This will often crash the machine if the Ram is overworked.

One way around this problem is to enter the BIOS settings and increase the wait state of the Ram. This can make it more stable. Another way to troubleshoot a suspected Ram problem is to rearrange the Ram chips on the motherboard, or take some of them out. Then try to repeat the circumstances that caused the crash. When handling Ram try not to touch the gold connections, as they can be easily damaged.

Parity error messages also refer to Ram. Modern Ram chips are either parity (ECC) or non parity (non-ECC). It is best not to mix the two types, as this can be a cause of trouble.

EMM386 error messages refer to memory problems but may not be connected to bad Ram. This may be due to free memory problems often linked to old Dos-based programmes.

3 BIOS settings

Every motherboard is supplied with a range of chipset settings that are decided in the factory. A common way to access these settings is to press the F2 or delete button during the first few seconds of a boot-up.

Once inside the BIOS, great care should be taken. It is a good idea to write down on a piece of paper all the settings that appear on the screen. That way, if you change something and the computer becomes more unstable, you will know what settings to revert to.

A common BIOS error concerns the CAS latency. This refers to the Ram. Older EDO (extended data out) Ram has a CAS latency of 3. Newer SDRam has a CAS latency of 2. Setting the wrong figure can cause the Ram to lock up and freeze the computer's display.

Mcft Windows is better at allocating IRQ numbers than any BIOS. If possible set the IRQ numbers to Auto in the BIOS. This will allow Windows to allocate the IRQ numbers (make sure the BIOS setting for Plug and Play OS is switched to 'yes' to allow Windows to do this.).

4 Hard disk drives

After a few weeks, the information on a hard disk drive starts to become piecemeal or fragmented. It is a good idea to defragment the hard disk every week or so, to prevent the disk from causing a screen freeze. Go to

* Start-Programs-Accessories-System Tools-Disk Defragmenter

This will start the procedure. You will be unable to write data to the hard drive (to save it) while the disk is defragmenting, so it is a good idea to schedule the procedure for a period of inactivity using the Task Scheduler.

The Task Scheduler should be one of the small icons on the bottom right of the Windows opening page (the desktop).

Some lockups and screen freezes caused by hard disk problems can be solved by reducing the read-ahead optimisation. This can be adjusted by going to

* Start-Settings-Control Panel-System Icon-Performance-File System-Hard Disk.

Hard disks will slow down and crash if they are too full. Do some housekeeping on your hard drive every few months and free some space on it. Open the Windows folder on the C drive and find the Temporary Internet Files folder. Deleting the contents (not the folder) can free a lot of space.

Empty the Recycle Bin every week to free more space. Hard disk drives should be scanned every week for errors or bad sectors. Go to

* Start-Programs-Accessories-System Tools-ScanDisk

Otherwise assign the Task Scheduler to perform this operation at night when the computer is not in use.

5 Fatal OE exceptions and VXD errors

Fatal OE exception errors and VXD errors are often caused by video card problems.

These can often be resolved easily by reducing the resolution of the video display. Go to

* Start-Settings-Control Panel-Display-Settings

Here you should slide the screen area bar to the left. Take a look at the colour settings on the left of that window. For most desktops, high colour 16-bit depth is adequate.

If the screen freezes or you experience system lockups it might be due to the video card. Make sure it does not have a hardware conflict. Go to

* Start-Settings-Control Panel-System-Device Manager

Here, select the + beside Display Adapter. A line of text describing your video card should appear. Select it (make it blue) and press properties. Then select Resources and select each line in the window. Look for a message that says No Conflicts.

If you have video card hardware conflict, you will see it here. Be careful at this point and make a note of everything you do in case you make things worse.

The way to resolve a hardware conflict is to uncheck the Use Automatic Settings box and hit the Change Settings button. You are searching for a setting that will display a No Conflicts message.

Another useful way to resolve video problems is to go to

* Start-Settings-Control Panel-System-Performance-Graphics

Here you should move the Hardware Acceleration slider to the left. As ever, the most common cause of problems relating to graphics cards is old or faulty drivers (a driver is a small piece of software used by a computer to communicate with a device).

Look up your video card's manufacturer on the internet and search for the most recent drivers for it.

6 Viruses

Often the first sign of a virus infection is instability. Some viruses erase the boot sector of a hard drive, making it impossible to start. This is why it is a good idea to create a Windows start-up disk. Go to

* Start-Settings-Control Panel-Add/Remove Programs

Here, look for the Start Up Disk tab. Virus protection requires constant vigilance.

A virus scanner requires a list of virus signatures in order to be able to identify viruses. These signatures are stored in a DAT file. DAT files should be updated weekly from the website of your antivirus software manufacturer.

An excellent antivirus programme is McAfee VirusScan by Network Associates ( www.nai.com). Another is Norton AntiVirus 2000, made by Symantec ( www.symantec.com).

7 Printers

The action of sending a document to print creates a bigger file, often called a postscript file.

Printers have only a small amount of memory, called a buffer. This can be easily overloaded. Printing a document also uses a considerable amount of CPU power. This will also slow down the computer's performance.

If the printer is trying to print unusual characters, these might not be recognised, and can crash the computer. Sometimes printers will not recover from a crash because of confusion in the buffer. A good way to clear the buffer is to unplug the printer for ten seconds. Booting up from a powerless state, also called a cold boot, will restore the printer's default settings and you may be able to carry on.

8 Software

A common cause of computer crash is faulty or badly-installed software. Often the problem can be cured by uninstalling the software and then reinstalling it. Use Norton Uninstall or Uninstall Shield to remove an application from your system properly. This will also remove references to the programme in the System Registry and leaves the way clear for a completely fresh copy.

The System Registry can be corrupted by old references to obsolete software that you thought was uninstalled. Use Reg Cleaner by Jouni Vuorio to clean up the System Registry and remove obsolete entries. It works on Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98 SE (Second Edition), Windows Millennium Edition (ME), NT4 and Windows 2000.

Read the instructions and use it carefully so you don't do permanent damage to the Registry. If the Registry is damaged you will have to reinstall your operating system. Reg Cleaner can be obtained from www.jv16.org

Often a Windows problem can be resolved by entering Safe Mode. This can be done during start-up. When you see the message "Starting Windows" press F4. This should take you into Safe Mode.

Safe Mode loads a minimum of drivers. It allows you to find and fix problems that prevent Windows from loading properly.

Sometimes installing Windows is difficult because of unsuitable BIOS settings. If you keep getting SUWIN error messages (Windows setup) during the Windows installation, then try entering the BIOS and disabling the CPU internal cache. Try to disable the Level 2 (L2) cache if that doesn't work.

Remember to restore all the BIOS settings back to their former settings following installation.

9 Overheating

Central processing units (CPUs) are usually equipped with fans to keep them cool. If the fan fails or if the CPU gets old it may start to overheat and generate a particular kind of error called a kernel error. This is a common problem in chips that have been overclocked to operate at higher speeds than they are supposed to.

One remedy is to get a bigger better fan and install it on top of the CPU. Specialist cooling fans/heatsinks are available from www.computernerd.com or www.coolit.com

CPU problems can often be fixed by disabling the CPU internal cache in the BIOS. This will make the machine run more slowly, but it should also be more stable.

10 Power supply problems

With all the new construction going on around the country the steady supply of electricity has become disrupted. A power surge or spike can crash a computer as easily as a power cut.

If this has become a nuisance for you then consider buying a uninterrupted power supply (UPS). This will give you a clean power supply when there is electricity, and it will give you a few minutes to perform a controlled shutdown in case of a power cut.

It is a good investment if your data are critical, because a power cut will cause any unsaved data to be lost.

Long Time No Pay

Hello all those who are with me when saying "long time ... no pay" I pretty much gave up on PTC websites, because I came to some simple conclusions:

It isnt a scam, there are just to many impatient people.

PTC sites starts off paying on time, but with the lack of income from the web and the numerous amount of users requesting money delays the payment quite a bit.

One thing I would like to use for at bux.to is the advertisement, since I have stored credit on bux.to, why not.

I am still waiting on my $1400 some dollars, but while I was waiting my bux.to cash went up $500 more. If i receive this money I will say yes, it is worth it, especially because I want to start a business and need money to start off. 500 in ~ 2000 out... not bad.

Furthermore, I may be starting off a web hosting company, which serves the purpose of bring simple plans to the younger people with budgets. Soon many of you will be able to see my ads on bux.to

So, I waited and waited. I read on the forums people deleted their old ticket, and remade it. After 2 days I got my referrals replaced. I only remade the ticket because it was a old one.

FYI: I thought they delete the inactives and replace them with new ones. But no, they just give you the amount inactive, so now I have 535 referrals.

We were planning to release the card with our own design and logo, but this is taking longer than expected. So instead we will start out first with cards from our supplier with the embossed 'www.bux.to' a very basic design.
Card orders will be accepted from Monday or Tuesday next week with more specific details to follow. The good looking design will be out a few weeks later for ordering.

Scam Proof: Guide to not being scammed

I made a guide for those people who are worried about being scammed by websites. Mostly PTC Websites.

Follow This Guide for most websites

Think of the first impression you get from the website.
-Does it look trust worthy?
-Does it have random advertisements everywhere? Popups, repeated ad on 1 page, 3-5+
-Do you feel welcomed? If the colors hurt your eyes, why stay.
-Is it confusing to navigate through the site? if it took you about 10 mins to find the account setting or account cancellation link.... yeh

Look around for similar websites.
-Are there other websites that have the same theme or setup?
-Have you seen the website before? Most likely you have, and it was a free website.
-If you can mimic the exact website, its probably made by the owner, because they are cheap.

"Invest in us" But did they invest in themselves?
-Does it have a support group, of hired employees? If you see the same admin or support answering your questions, this is a sign.
-Look for a marketable logo. If all they have is Arial font with 2 color changes, it doesn't count. They obviously did not pay a designer to make one for them. **One way you can check, is hover your cursor over the "logo" and try to highlight it**
-Does it allow you to contact other people through the website? Like a forum, so you can speak about your problems and success through their forums. If they keep you from other members. They probably want to keep you away from others.

Before you go thinking all the websites with these issues are scam websites. Please remember these are things I have encountered as a scam website. Therefore, if you have any of these problems just be extra careful.

How I made $500, in less than a month

Many people wanted to know how I got the $500 to buy the 500 referrals and premium from bux.to. I have no secret it was very simple for me. I am a college student, and I do not like to spend money "online", so I made the $500 all on-line and treated it like "play money" or money I can do what ever with.

I attend an art school, so I have a passion for the arts. And I self taught myself how to use Adobe Photoshop. Then I began to hone my skills of becoming a graphic designer. Here is the simple process I took to achieve $500 USD.

I had Adobe Photoshop, practiced with it, meaning I mastered the most used tools from it.

Once I was able to do some designs, I Went to http://99designs.com/. Here you can enter into as many graphic designing contests as you want with no price for signing up.

I signed up and started to look at the design competitions. But the only thing that seemed to be worth my time was Logo Design, because it required the least amount of work and paid a lot (minimum of $100 each). My intentions were to win 5 designs and use it for bux.to.

I entered into about 100-150 designs. And Failed several times, but in the end I came out with 6 winning designs ranging from $100-250 each. So in my eyes all this was worth my time.

All My prize money was sent to my paypal account.

There you go people, that is how I made $500 usd online all from scratch. Some may say getting Adobe Photoshop would cost a lot. But You can always get free designing programs online. It was all through ambition to succeed and dedication to something I enjoy. In conclusion, I believe you can not make money with out putting in money. Since Time = Money

My referral replacement has been over due. Past a few weeks. But I am not going to bother bux.to for them to replace it. At the moment they are going through many changes and most of the employees are bogged down with good and bad support tickets. Therefore, I will wait until bux.to seems to have everything under More Control than they are right now. Its not like the 10 inactives referrals will make a huge difference in my earnings.

Speaking of earnings, Mine have been lower than ever. My weekly stats will show the viewers how much it has gone down. Well, I received my premium upgrade today. Here is how it was.

PROS:
- Amazing to have 30+ ads available for me to click, though the minimum is 20 ads.
- They kept their 2-3 days policy, I paid via paypal, through the reg.net payment system they just set up.
- I get a Premium Member Bonus (Premium Member Bonus / 03 Jul 2007 01:17 PM / 0.1500)

CONS:
- Some of the premium ads, has a popup that gets annoying when you try to close the window.
- Nothing different about the premium ads, its the same deal, either from a spam like website or bux.to news updates.

Upgrading Server

Well Bux.to started upgrading their server, or rather moving their server to a bigger server. Which should bring better service. Surprisingly, Some PTC businesses shut up, due to the paypa incident, but bux.to has keep their business going. Also their upgrading server has been going well, as far as how they keep the public updated on what is going on. Personally, I am proud of bux.to and how dedicated they are to this business. As far as I can see, bux.to is not a scam.

Upgrading has some minor problems at the moment.
-You need to go to "www.bux.to" to surf ads. forget "bux.to"
-People who lost a few days of clicks, did not receive them.

But with all these problems, Bux.to has not "ran away with the money" like people have been saying. Bux.to continues to work through these errors, attempting to fix them. I believe bux.to is legit.

New server Movement

Tomorrow, the 24th of January at 3AM GMT we are moving to our new servers as recently announced on the 20th of January (more details please see http://www.bux.to/networkstructure.php)
We will try to keep the downtime as short as possible. Expected downtime is around 3~6 hours.

After the upgrade, hopefully you will see a significant increase in performance such as speed and some issues resolved such as stats delay and those annoying 'unable to connect' messages.

Some people will start accusing bux.to of shutting down and running away with all the money, but as you can see here it was a scheduled down of servers.

Huge Problem: Paypal

Bux.to and many other PTC businesses, have suffered from paypal. Recently, Paypal has locked all the PTC accounts. Which has caused a huge chaos of people being angry and some glad that new payment options will arise. Paypal, being the most used system of payment, has "screwed over" many people. Especially me, Because I have used paypal as my payment method.

Now bux.to should resort to Alertpay. But I have seen many out side sources, that claim alert pay to be a scam. Reading this does not make me feel so great about it.

Day 4: Updated stats

I got my stats updated. I was happy to see a gain in earnings. The update was around noon. So I will check every noon est for updates. Revisit this site or sign up for the RSS feed for daily updates.

Problems:
Nothing Big, just a minor delay on updating the stats.

Bux.to Is upgrading their servers.

Major server upgrade coming week. Multiple dedicated servers linked together into one cluster. We will try to keep the downtime as short as possible. - bux.to news Jan. 20, 2008

Due to these, reasons My stats have not been updating properly. Therefore, I will be updating the stats as soon as the stats have been updated. I usually update the stats in the morning, but the stats seem to update on bux.to near the afternoon. So you will start seeing the follow up and stats of my bux.to experience at later times. But please revisit daily to see what else happens.

Here are my future plans with bux.to:

I will be planning on buying premium membership, once I see how my weekly stats are showing. If I see a even rate of daily clicks, then I will buy premium, but if I see some insecure rates, I will wait for further stats.

Day 3: Server delays

[UPDATED] There was a delay with the stats updating on bux.to they say all my stats will be up-to date soon. But here are my morning stats, though I did not get most of my referrals clicks.

Problems:
They have been getting stat delays lately (I have had 2 in the past 3 days), bad server maybe. But its not very convenient. especially for those, who are excited to see their stats the next day, but find no change. Then you start second guessing bux.to... But I guess this delay will get resolved soon, they say they will be getting new servers. So it should help out, probably the main reason for all these delays on click updates.

I will update my stats today again, if I see it has been updated.

Day 2: ehh...

Hello, I have been waiting for day 2, only to find something not to great. It seems that I get most of my clicks after 10 pm EST most of the time. During the day I only get about $1-$3, then over night I get about $40. This is not final yet, Like someone has said, my referral clicks can be slowly dieing out. I will decided to buy premium if my referral clicks stay at a close rate. But looking at todays current stats, it does not look good...

Problems:
I currently have 20 "inactive" referrals. Which means 480 referrals should be clicking. Surprisingly The "active" referrals have more than just 1 click. Most of them have more than 10 clicks. Not sure how long this will keep up. If they decide to stop clicking than the system is ruined. (Thats why I click as well)

Today I earned only $42.60, which is $2.85 less than yesterday. Hopefully this is not the beginning of a long chain of inactive clicking.

Day 1: The earning Beings

Here are my first day of stats. I am actually very satisfied with them. I have gained $44.79 over my sleep. The majority vote says I should not pay out at $10, but rather wait longer, so I will wait and see how this goes.

Problems:
I have found many of those "inactive referrals" clicking about 1-7 clicks. I hope they click more. I currently have about 20 "inactive" referrals I can switch out. Therefore, the problem I face, is that having a referral with 1 click then quiting is considered "active". So if your one of those people I hope this blog can show the public, bux.to is the real deal.

Also I have to wait 7 days before I can switch out the inactive referrals. I need to send in a support ticket asking them to switch out the unused referrals. (Not a problem, just informing)

I just found out I got my referrals all 500 of them. At a glance, I only see a few with clicks, like 10-15? Some only clicked once. But Ill update this once I see some more clicks. Other than that, I waited about 2 days and I got my referrals. I am very happy with bux.to right now.

I will be posting the stats everyday I can. Soon and will post up any problems I face. Wish me luck visitors.

PROBLEMS:
~~Not that many referrals are active, But 500 referrals allows me to switch out inactive referrals. I have about 10 that I can count that are very active.~~ I found out it was only a delay in the updating clicks.

While I wait for my referrals, and begin posting my stats, I would love to get some feedback from the visitors. Just click on the polls so I can see what you guys think. You can even leave comments if you want, posting your refer me link will not be tolerated, and will be removed.

It is just a pay per click website. Paying for the referrals is like an investment. You get $0.01 per click, you have to view the link for 30 seconds and a green check has to show up.

Anyways I would like visitors to start clicking the polls so I can make some decisions with the popular vote. I hope Bux.to comes through for me, so I can have a long term business with them.

I will be buying referrals from bux.to and then posting up the stats of everything. This will be an experiment people can not miss out. I will finally see if bux.to is a scam or not.

I have been clicking the ads for awhile, and now I am going to test it out. I will be using a max of $500, win or lose, I will get the proof of something.
